Our Special Dai-ichi Takimotokan Eho-maki Have Arrived!
It is that time of year when our Dai-ichi Takimotokan Eho-maki become available. Eaten on the last day of winter, they are a delicious celebration of the change of the season. Eho-maki are a special sushi roll to be eaten while facing ‘Eho’, the lucky direction for this year.

Often eaten on the evening of Setsubun, the day that marks the end of winter in Japan, you should eat it silently and all at once while making a wish. For 2020, the lucky direction is west-southwest.
Eho-maki generally contain seven ingredients that represent the seven gods of happiness. Typical ingredients for an eho-maki are tuna, crab, egg, dried gourd, mushrooms, salmon roe, and seasoned, freeze-dried tofu.
Our eho-maki are available for a limited time at Ideyu Soba, our in-house soba restaurant located on the lower level of our main building. They are about 10 cm in length, which is a nice size for eating all at once. They are 700 yen (770 yen, including tax) and are served with miso soup.
Our eho-maki will be on sale from Saturday, February 1 through Monday, February 3. You can purchase them at lunchtime or in the evening.
*Please note that there is a limited quantity available.
We look forward to seeing you here and celebrating the change of the season together!
