Get Ready for the New Year!
October has arrived and along with it chillier weather. The trees are just beginning to turn, but change is in the air. It’s time for warmer coats even though the days are still warm. Be careful not to catch a cold!
As the leaves start to turn color, so our minds here at Dai-ichi Takimotokan begin to turn toward getting ready for the New Year or Oshogatsu. Department stores, too, are beginning to feature traditional Osechi ryori (New Year dishes.)
Just as we did last year, we will also offer Osechi to help our guests celebrate Oshogatsu in typical Japanese style. Made up of three levels, the foods are divided between Japanese and Western style. There is enough of each dish for three or four servings, so it is perfect for sharing with family.
The basic design is similar to those used for catering, but with some unique differences. Served in a series of three nested boxes, the Dai-ichi Takimotokan’s 2017 Osechi ryori brings together the work of forty craftsmen for a deliciously exceptional way to ring in the New Year. The photo shows the actual box and gives a hint at the intricate dishes inside.
We will begin accepting reservations via telephone or fax on Tuesday, October 18th until December, 20th.
Please call the Dai-ichi Takimotokan shop at 0120-479-600 after 11am or fax the form to 0413-84-2201.
