The New South Building is Open!
We are very happy to announce that the new Dai-ichi Takimotokan’s South Building is open! All 164 rooms, including 136 remodeled rooms, are open and waiting for guests to come enjoy the Hokkaido summer with us. The special group entrance is temporarily open and receiving guests. The Grand Opening, however, will be in August, when everything will be completed.
The design of the new rooms centers around the Hokkaido forest and the pleasure of relaxing in the forest and close to nature. We announced this exciting new work in May, and we are excited to be able to finally share it with you!
Perhaps the one most excited to share these beautiful spaces with you is Takimaru-kun. He put together a tour that will give you a sneak peek at all the lovely changes to our onsen-resort.
Let’s start! From here you can see the lower level entrance.
Once you get to the bottom of the slope, you can see the entrance.
This is the guest entrance until the Grand Opening in August.
Just inside, the Dai-ichi Takimotokan logo welcomes you. On the right is the front desk for checking in and arrivals.
This will be a lounge exclusively for guests arriving by bus; however, until the Grand Opening in August, all guests will check in here. There are plenty of comfortable chairs for resting and chatting, too. The carpet design with its swirling natural tones mimics nearby Hell Valley, and behind the desk is a fantastic mosaic depicting the demons who live in Noboribetsu Onsen. It feels like you have truly arrived in this special place!
After you check in, you can take the elevator to the renovated rooms in the South Building.
When you get off the elevator, you will find yourself in a space reminiscent of the texture of trees and the forest. Here on the second floor are rooms for visitors who bring their dogs along with regular rooms.
Let’s take a look down the hallway for the full effect
As you walk along to your room, it feels like you are walking through the forest to your own special place.
Now, let’s look at one of the rooms.
This is our first triple room with an interior that is reminiscent of a white birch forest. Families and friends can spend time here surrounded by high-quality comfort. During the summer vacation, we also offer a half price plan for families with children who would like to use the triple rooms.
Later, we will give you a tour of the other rooms, but each one is designed to feel like the Hokkaido forest. The Japanese-style mattresses use solid cotton that is compatible with tatami mats. In addition, we have Conforton mattresses that offer extra support for the lower back. The Western-style beds use Simmons pocket-coil mattresses.
When you come to Hokkaido, please join us in the newly remodeled South Building and reserve a room to see for yourself. We will be so very happy to see you!
