South Building Grand Opening!

We are very pleased to announce that Dai-ichi Takimotokan officially opened the newly renovated South Building on August 10. As you will see, the design reflects the beauty of Noboribetsu Onsen, and sets the stage for a relaxing Hokkaido visit.

In our July 11th post, we introduced the lower level entrance for those arriving by charter bus, but today we will introduce our main entrance on the ground floor.

Takimaru-kun will once again give a tour of the new entrance and facility starting at the waterfall just outside the entrance to Dai-ichi Takimotokan.

A new walking slope was added on the right side of the waterfall in addition to the staircase on the left. Until now, the only way to roll a heavy suitcase or for those using wheelchairs to get to the main entrance was via the driveway. The new slope creates a safer traffic situation and is a gentler slope than the driveway.

Customers arriving by car can use the driveway, while those coming on foot can go up the stairs to the right.

Our open front door welcomes everyone!

Our old front door was designed in a straight line for easy entrance, but the new crank type door makes it easy for guests to come and go as they arrive and explore especially on windy days.

The floor and walls have been completely redone while maintaining the basic structure. In addition to our usual seasonal bouquets, we have a number of extra flowers received in commemoration of the grand opening that are adding an extra touch of fresh beauty.

It is, in fact, the first renovation of the lobby in 41 years.

We will also take this opportunity to offer a tour of the renovated Japanese-style rooms in the South Building.

The tatami mats have been redone and all four types of rooms modernized so there is enough space to be comfortable and relax. Reminiscent of a Hokkaido forest, the cozy space is perfect for enjoying a Japanese-style dinner in your room.

Solid Comforton cotton futons offer a bit more support for the lower back and make for an easy night’s rest. Whether guests choose a Western-style room with Simmons mattresses or a Japanese-style room, we look forward to welcoming you and offering you a restorative stay with our special bedding. We hope to see you here soon at Dai-ichi Takimotokan and the renovated South Building. Online reservation is available here.
