In Noboribetsu, snow is falling heavily and turning everything white. Wasn’t it a little warmer just the other day?

Since it looks like Spring is just a little bit further away, please be careful to not catch a cold.

However, to help keep you warm, we have some wonderful news to share!

Recently, the Biglobe Travel website revealed the results of their 9th Annual People’s Choice Onsen Competition. Visitors to the site voted on their favorite onsen in western and eastern Japan.

We are very proud to announce that Dai-ichi Takimotokan was voted the best onsen in Eastern Japan! We have received first place honors in the Bath/Spring Quality Division for the first four years, and it is our great honor to have been chosen as Yokozuna (Grand Champion) for the next five years, including this one. The competition uses sumo terminology to describe the winners of different levels, and even creates a banzuke (roster) to list them all. Please click here to read more details (in Japanese).

This year, Dai-ichi Takimotokan will celebrate our 160th year anniversary of welcoming guests and visitors to Noboribetsu. Like our motto, “Welcome Back” says, we look forward to helping guests continue to enjoy our wonderful services and fantastic hot baths for many years to come.
