[Apr 26] New ramen shop will open!

A new ramen shop, “Gokuraku Ramen,” will open inside Takimotokan on Sunday, April 26, 2026.
After relaxing both body and mind in The Grand Bath, you can casually stop by this “Gokuraku Ramen”.
Whether it’s a quick bowl during the day or ramen paired with drinks at night, a new way to enjoy food in the town is about to begin.

■ A Classic Taste of Hokkaido Ramen

An essential element of “Gokuraku Ramen” is the medium-thick, wavy egg noodles from Nishiyama Ramen, a long-established noodle maker representing Hokkaido.
These slightly yellow, high-hydration noodles are known for their pleasantly chewy texture and their ability to tangle the soup perfectly.

The broth is a carefully prepared double soup made by slowly simmering chicken bones and pork.
While it offers a clean, smooth first sip, the depth of flavor gradually unfolds with every spoonful.

It’s a bowl that feels nostalgic, yet perfectly suited to modern tastes—quintessentially Hokkaido in every way.

■ “Gokuraku Ramen” Envisioned by Manager Kamimura

The shop is run by Manager Kamimura, who, after graduating from culinary school, gained experience in both cooking and service at hotels across Hokkaido.
It was through these experiences that he developed a desire to “express the charm of Hokkaido in a single bowl of ramen.”

He hopes to offer guests from Japan and around the world a moment that can only be experienced at Noboribetsu Onsen.
With this vision in mind, he decided to open a ramen shop inside a traditional ryokan.

■ A Diverse Ramen Lineup and the Bold Soupless Ramen

The menu features a variety of classic Hokkaido ramen styles, including miso, soy sauce, salt, and spicy miso.
Among them, the owner’s top recommendation is the “Gokuraku Ramen,” loaded with all available toppings—a hearty bowl aiming to become a new local specialty of Noboribetsu Onsen.

They also offer a punchy “soupless ramen” seasoned with garlic and chili peppers.
Mix in the egg yolk for a rich, mellow flavor, and for an extra treat, you can add diced Noboribetsu pork chashu as an option—making it an irresistibly satisfying final bowl to end your meal.

■ At Night: An Izakaya Inside the Ryokan

After 6:00 PM, the restaurant transforms into more than just a ramen shop, offering a wide selection of à la carte dishes.
Highlights include the limited-quantity “Deep-fried Deer (Katsu)” made with Ezo venison from our neighbours Shiraoi, as well as the “Gokuraku Sake Set,” featuring a combination of potato salad, fried chicken, and seasoned meat—perfect for enjoying a drink after a bath.

One of the unique perks of a ryokan is that you can relax and indulge without ever needing to leave the building.
Whether it’s a drink before or after your ramen, or a laid-back evening treat, it’s an ideal way to unwind at night.

■ Extra Care in Every Grain of Rice

For rice dishes, the restaurant uses “Rankoshi rice,” sourced directly from local farmers in Rankoshi Town.
Known for its distinct texture and natural sweetness, the rice pairs exceptionally well with the ramen, enhancing the overall dining experience.
