October Lunch: Japanese Round Steak

October has begun, and here in Noboribetsu Onsen that means the seasons are beginning to shift a little bit more. Even so, the most recent typhoon, Number 24, has made itself known throughout Japan. We hope you are all safe and well.

It is also time to introduce the October Lunch at Takimoto Inn! Just across the street from the hotel, it is a lovely spot to taste the delights of the season.

Japanese Beef Round Steak with Eryngii Mushrooms and Risotto Milanese

Using cuts of domestic beef round steak, our chef paired it with a fragrant Eryngii mushroom sauce to satisfy all the senses as well as the stomach! Risotto Milanese is an excellent companion to both of these as its saffron color offers a bit of brightness to this cheesy delight. Served with soup, salad and bread for 1,200 yen, including tax.

Potato Gnocchi and Shrimp in a Spinach Cream Sauce

Further south, potatoes are harvested in early summer; however, here in Hokkaido they are just arriving fresh from the fields. Inspired, our chef decided to make potato gnocchi! Served with shrimp in a spinach cream sauce, this dish perfectly balances the hearty taste of potatoes with the sea. Served with bread, soup or salad, it is 1,000 yen, including tax.
